Terms of Service — Leaf & Light

The service
Leaf & Light is a houseplant care app. It identifies plants from a built-in guide, recommends windows and spots, shows weather for a place you choose, and reminds you when plants are due for water. Care advice is general guidance for common houseplants, not professional horticultural advice — your plants, home and climate vary, so use your own judgement alongside it.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for everything done under your account. One account is for one person; please do not share your login.
Free plan and subscriptions
The free plan covers 1 plant per account. A paid subscription (CAD $4.99 per month or CAD $39.99 per year, plus any applicable taxes) unlocks unlimited plants. Prices are in Canadian dollars and are charged through Stripe.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the billing portal (or, in test mode, from the Plan tab). After cancellation, your existing plants stay in your account, but you cannot add new plants until you resubscribe. We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods unless required by law.
Your content
Photos and notes you add remain yours. You give us permission to store and display them inside your account so the service works. You must only upload photos you have the right to use.
Acceptable use
Please do not misuse the service: no attempts to access other users' accounts, break the service, or upload harmful or unlawful content. We may suspend accounts that do so.
Availability
We aim to keep Leaf & Light running, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Weather data comes from a third-party free service (Open-Meteo) and may occasionally be unavailable; in that case watering advice falls back to standard timing.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Leaf & Light is provided "as is", and we are not liable for plant loss, or for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted here with a new date; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
