Privacy Policy — Leaf & Light
Last updated: October 25, 2026
What we collect
Account information: your email address and a securely hashed password, so you can log in and so your plants stay private to your account. We never store your password in plain text.
Your plants, windows and location: the plants you add (including photos you upload), the windows and spots you describe, and the place you pick for weather. This is the core of the service — it is used only to give you care advice, window recommendations and watering reminders.
Subscription information: your subscription status and plan. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Stripe's own privacy policy governs payment data.
Technical data: basic server logs (such as pages requested) used to keep the service running and secure.
What we do with it
We use your data only to run Leaf & Light for you: showing your plants, computing care plans and watering schedules, fetching weather for your chosen place, and managing your subscription. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Weather and place search
Place searches and forecasts use the free Open-Meteo service. When you search for a place or view weather, your chosen coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to fetch the forecast. No account information is sent with those requests.
Photos
Plant photos you upload are stored on our server and shown only inside your account. You can delete a plant (and its photo) at any time from the app.
Your choices
You can delete individual plants or windows at any time. To delete your whole account and its data, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
Children
Leaf & Light is intended for adults. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will note the change here and update the date above.
